Daniil Medvedev will participate in the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam in February, the organization of the ATP tournament announced on Monday.
For Medvedev it will be his third participation in Rotterdam. This year, the Russian was defeated in the semi-finals by Gael Monfils, who later won the tournament.
Tournament director Richard Krajicek is delighted with the arrival of Medvedev. "Daniil is the player of the moment", says Krajicek.
"With four titles and five final places, 2019 is the year of his final breakthrough. He beat Novak Djokovic twice this year and made Rafael Nadal falter in the US Open final. As Alexander Zverev said, he may be the best of everyone at the moment. "
The 23-year-old Medvedev is the fourth announced player in Rotterdam after Gael Monfils, Stan Wawrinka and David Goffin.
