The rookie players who get the chance are Niklas Hansson, Dennis Everberg, Daniel Zaar and goalkeeper Christoffer Rifalk. Rifalk is only in the first week in Leksand and then leaves the team as the tournament continues in Helsinki.

One who is also back in the national team for the first time in three years is star Patrik Berglund, who broke the contract with the NHL club Buffalo Sabers due to mental illness, but now plays in Djurgården.

- You see incredible joy in his game. He is passionate about what he does. He has had a season start where he has gotten better and better for every match, says Garpenlöv about Berglund.

Garpenlöv also selected some debutants such as Christoffer Rifalk, Olle Alsing, Arvid Lundberg and Gustav Rydahl.

Sweden will play the premiere away against the Czech Republic in Leksand next week on Thursday, but then the tournament in Finnish Helsinki will continue.

The season premiere of the Euro Hockey Tour is broadcast in SVT.
