Jeffrey de Zwaan and Vincent van der Voort both failed to reach the semifinals of the European Championship darts on Sunday. De Zwaan lost to Michael Smith in Göttingen, Germany, and Van der Voort was no match for Gerwyn Price.

De Zwaan crashed 5-10 against Smith. 'The Black Cobra' came behind a break in the eighth leg against the losing finalist of the last World Cup and was unable to clear that gap.

Van der Voort had to recognize his superior with 8-10 in Price. 'The Dutch Destroyer' kept pace with the Welshman up to 6-6 and then immediately canceled the first break in the match. In the eighteenth leg he still had to give in.

Smith and Price face each other in the last four. In the other semi-final, Rob Cross takes on Daryl Gurney. The semi-finals and the final of the European Championship are also played on Sunday.

Michael van Gerwen was eliminated in the first round on Thursday. De Brabander, who has already won the tournament four times, was surprised by Ross Smith.
