Another Russian figure skater Yevgenia Medvedeva made a number of mistakes in the short program and fell, taking only sixth intermediate place. However, the skater managed to pack up and improve her position after two rentals. She admitted that she could not find an explanation for yesterday’s failure and at the same time did not believe that she had done something unusual by demonstrating a pure free program.
“We have done an excellent job in the past two and a half weeks. I felt confident in training, at a six-minute warm-up, and even during the rental I was not nervous. Another Russian woman, Serafima Sakhanovich, took only eighth place. The skater was extremely upset by her performance, since, according to her, she felt calm throughout the rental.

The third place in the competition of sports couples was taken by another Russian duet of Evgeny Tarasov - Vladimir Morozov.
