It was a victory required for Bergman to secure already today and then he stepped forward and delivered. He won the inaugural race of the World Cup in China one minute and 13 seconds ahead of Joey Hadorn, Switzerland. Three in the competition was Lucas Basset, France.

The Swede, with a number of World Cup medals on the track record, started this year's World Cup very strongly by winning both competitions in Finnish Helsinki in June.

Since then he has been stable, but only took a pallet place and it came in Norwegian Östfold when he finished second behind home runner Olav Lundanes.

Lundanes, who was second in the World Cup ahead of today's competition, does not participate in the World Cup final and therefore Bergman's victory was enough to secure the total.
