Last summer, Frenchman Stephanie Frappart broke ground when she became the first female judge to judge a European men's final when she was given the main responsibility in the Liverpool-Chelsea meeting.

Now British judge Sian Massey-Ellis is breaking new ground.

Yesterday, in the Europa League meeting between Dutch PSV and Austrian Linz, she became the first English woman to judge an international cup match on the men's side.

- I really think it has become more normal for women to now judge male matches. It was a great moment when Stephanie Frappart judged the Super Cup and in the best of worlds it should not matter what gender, race or region you belong to. It's just about going out there and doing your job as best you can, she says to the English Football Association.

Massey-Ellis assisted Chief Judge Chris Kavanagh with Dan Cook.

The match ended 0-0.
