The officials discovered that Renault's brake pre-tension adjustment was in violation of the rules that drivers must drive the car alone and without aids.

Renault has until afternoon to appeal the decision. If the decision is firm, Ferraris Charles Leclerc will be moved up from seventh to sixth place.

It will not affect the constructors 'World Cup or the lead of the drivers' World Cup where it is double Mercedes at the top with Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, the only ones to take home the title.
