Ahmed Al-Kathiri, 43, is preparing to participate in six Ultramarathon races in less than one year (11 months), five of which will be held on five continents, 250 kilometers per race and a sixth 300 kilometers, which prompted him to communicate with Guinness World Records Office, with the aim of entering the UAE in the global encyclopedia.

Al-Katheri told Emirates Today: “I am trying to compete with the logo of Expo 2020 in order to promote the international event that will be hosted by the UAE next year, especially as the last race of the Ultramarathon series will be held in the South Pole at the time of the World Expo.” He explained that «entering the records records, and keen to promote the logo (Expo 2020), it is because I will participate in the race of 300 kilometers through the second edition of the longest desert race in the world, which will be held in December in Marmum in Dubai, and followed by five races Ultramarathon, Each of them is 250 kilometers long, to be unveiled at the South Pole in November, coinciding with the launch of Expo 2020, the global economic event hosted by the state ».

Al-Katheri noted that he is keen to write a new chapter in Guinness records and at his own expense, due to his desire to compete in six races of the Ultramarathon category and above in 11 months, in a challenge that no athlete has achieved in the world. Achieving this achievement, because he loves the challenge, and that he is a citizen of a country with the slogan «There is no impossible».

Al-Katheri said: “All the procedures have already been completed in regards to registration and payment of fees in all races, especially since I was the only citizen who succeeded last year in ending the (longest desert race in the world), which took place in Al-Marmum, and provided me with the incentive to upgrade.
