Kingsley Sarfo was acquired to Malmö FF from Sirius in the summer of 2017, for just under SEK 15 million. Just over a year later, Sarfo was sentenced by the High Court to prison for two years and eight months for child rape. He would also pay a damages of SEK 150,000 to the girl and be expelled from Sweden for ten years.

After the district court's verdict, Sarfo was fired from Malmö FF and the association announced that the player would be required for the sign-on bonus he received when he was recruited to the club.

In addition, Malmö FF demanded to get the money back from Sirius, as the Scanners thought that Sirius withheld information about the player. Today came the arbitral tribunal's ruling, which frees Sirius completely.

- I'm extremely relieved. We have, as I have said throughout the process, been convinced that we are right, but then there is always an uncertainty so clear when you sit down during three days of negotiations, says Ove Sjöblom, chairman of Sirius to UNT.

Two days ago, UNT also revealed that Sarfo is requesting a raise in the Supreme Court after the defense obtained a new birth certificate to show that the girl was born in 2001, and thus was 15 years old and not 14 when she met Sarfo.
