LONDON (Reuters) - Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah has recovered from an ankle injury and will be part of the squad for Wednesday's Champions League clash against Genk, the Premier League club confirmed on Tuesday.

Salah injured his ankle in his side's 2-1 win over Leicester City in the Premier League earlier this month. Salah has not played since then and missed a 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Sunday, the result that halted a 17-game series for Liverpool.

Central defender Joel Matip will not travel because of knee pain and full back Trent Alexander-Arnold due to a virus with Liverpool on a Belgium trip. Dianne Lovren and Joe Gomez are expected to be included in the starting line-up.

Defending champions Liverpool have three points after two games, one point behind Group E leaders Napoli, while Belgian champions Genk are bottom with one point.
