Enric Mas won the Tour of Guangxi on Tuesday. The Spaniard defended his leading position in the sixth and final stage, which was won by the German Pascal Ackermann.

The final stage of the last WorldTour race of the year turned into a mass sprint after 168 kilometers of race, which was marred by a crash in the final corner. Among others, Matteo Trentin was therefore unable to compete for the victory.

Ackermann proved to be the strongest and kept Sebastian Molano behind him, while Timo Roosen from Jumbo-Visma deservedly finished third. 25-year-old Ackermann had already won the third stage last week and also finished second in the first, second and fifth stage.

Mas's leading position in the general classification was no longer endangered in the final stage. The Deceuninck-Quick-Step rider won the fourth stage on Sunday and thus booked his first victory of the season.

The Tour of Guangxi was the last WorldTour race of the season. Last year the overall victory in the six-day cycling race went to the Italian Gianni Moscon.
