The target VAR was reviewed when Divock Origi was overturned in the sequence before after a bet from behind by Victor Nilsson Lindelöf, but the goal was approved. Just minutes later, VAR came into the picture again and again Nilsson Lindelöf was one of those involved.

Sadio Mané looked to have signed for Liverpool after a duel with the Swedish center back, but the goal was sent off due to hands on the Senegalese.

Lallana broke the target drought

For a long time, Liverpool appeared to be facing their first loss, but in the 85th minute came the receipt.

A Liverpool post went straight through Manchester United's penalty area and Adam Lallana was able to put 1-1. It was the Englishman's first goal since May 2017, after going speechless in 26 games.

Liverpool now top the Premier League five points ahead of Manchester City. Manchester United is in 13th place.
