LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Portuguese football legend Luis Figo has forgiven his former Real Madrid teammate and Brazilian and international soccer star Ronaldo after an abusive comment against Luis Figo's wife Helen Sveden. Figo said in a television interview on the Spanish program «El Hormigiro», that he does not hold any grudge against Ronaldo because of what he said against his wife in years ago. The incident goes back to the 2004 season, when Ronaldo said in the dressing room with Real Madrid, in the presence of club president Florentino Perez, that "if I were Figo's place I wouldn't have left home to play football with a beautiful wife like Helen." The comments shattered the relationship between Figo and Ronaldo, which lasted for years, before the relationship returned to its former lately. Figo said he felt offended but forgiven him, especially as he knew Ronaldo's love for joking constantly.
