Team leader Nico Verhoeven is working on his last months at Jumbo-Visma. The Dutch cycling team has decided to say goodbye to the former professional cyclist after this season.
"The specific qualities of Verhoeven are less apparent in the changing profile of the team. The end of this season is therefore the best time to say goodbye to each other," Jumbo-Visma writes Tuesday in a statement.
The 58-year-old Verhoeven has been involved with the Dutch team since the nineties, who is working on an excellent season. The team of Dylan Groenewegen and Steven Kruijswijk, among others, already had fifty victories this year, including stage wins in the three major laps.
