Counselor Turki Al-Sheikh, head of the General Authority for Entertainment in Saudi Arabia, announced on Monday, withdrawing all cases filed by him in the Egyptian courts against anyone who abused him through social networking sites.

Al-Sheikh wrote on his official page on the social networking site "Facebook" on Monday: "Egypt has a great place in my heart and its people and its leadership is a special goat, so I decided to withdraw all cases brought to those who abused me in social media, and God forgive the foregoing."

Al-Sheikh's decision was widely welcomed by commentators and social media pioneers.

Turki Al-Sheikh, who has been the owner of the Egyptian Pyramids before deciding to sell him and invest in European clubs by buying Spanish club Almeria, has been criticized and abused by some social media users.

On 11 September, Advisor Turki Al-Sheikh announced that he had taken legal action against a number of people for insulting himself on social media.
