Since Victor Hedman was drafted as a second player in the NHL Draft in 2009, and a few months ago debuted in Tampa Bay, he has grown into one of the league's best players and is more or less a cult player in Tampa Bay.

Tonight he played his 700th match in the league, and he still plays for the same club he debuted a decade ago.

- It is fun so clear and get acquainted to achieve that number of matches but what is most important to me is that it has been in the same club. It means a lot to me, I have a strong club feeling, ”Hedman tells Hockeynews, and continues:

- I played for Modo first from the age of five up to 18 and then from 18 years until now here in Tampa so it means a lot. This organization has done everything for me and my family.

Clear away victory

The anniversary match became a fun story for Hedman and Tampa Bay. They won by clear 6-3 away against Toronto. Victory organizers were the trio in the team's first chain. Season debuting Brayden Point accounted for two goals and one assist, Nikita Kucherov for two goals and two assists and Steven Stamkos for one goal and three scoring passes.

- Point is extremely important to us. He is one of the best two-way players in the world and it didn't look like he had missed so much time, he was everywhere tonight so it was fun to see, says Hedman, who himself stood for an assist in his anniversary match.
