National Boxer Nawaf Al-Zahmi lost his match against Afghan Mohammed Kohstini, weighing 52 kg, and bid farewell to the Asian Championship for young men and women boxing at the Zayed Sports Complex, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, and boxers from 27 countries.

Al-Zahmi's loss came with a hasty technical decision from the referee in the first round, although the boxer managed to keep up with his Afghan rival before the technical decision came to exclude him, which surprised coach Mohammad Musabeh.

UAE boxers continue their struggles today at medium and heavy weights.

In other struggles, Uzbekistan's Pekmuzudov beat Chinese Taipei Liu Li Jin by points in the 60kg category, while Iranian Hashiminasa beat South Korea's Kang Twing by points.
