It was in the fifth round that the accident occurred. Kirt, who finished second at 86.21, chased Grenada's sensation man Anderson Peter's leader throw at 86.89, betting everything.

Kirt was lying on the touchline after he had thrown away the spear, a throw that was rejected, with great pain. After a while, he received an ice bag around the damaged shoulder area. There were painful pictures that went right through the TV box for several minutes.

"Yes, yes, yes," said SVT Sports expert Kajsa Bergqvist.

Commentator Jacob Hård was critical that Kirt did not get help quickly enough on the track.

- Where are the nurses? This should not delay.

Bergqvist filled in:

- I don't understand why they can't just bring in a stretcher a little quick and give him help off the track.

"Seen in the air that it went out of joint"

Kim Amb chased a medal, finished eight, and followed drama from here.

- That wasn't fun. I know he is a little agitated in the shoulder and that this can happen. Now I just hope it's good with him.

Kirt, who is a world leader with 90.61, immediately felt that his shoulder was gone. It was therefore in the draft that the injury occurred and not when he broke into the ground:

- I realized in the air that the shoulder went out of joint, says Kirt to Estonian Öhtuleht.

It needs further investigations to determine the extent of the damage.

Vetter rejoices over the bronze

The Estonian medical team pulled the shoulder right into place.

"But a magnetic camera examination must be done to find out the exact diagnosis," says Estonian Athletics Association president Erich Teigamägi.

Anderson Peters was eighth in the world best list with 87.31 and took his life victory.

- I didn't think my 86 meters would be enough for gold. I want my compatriots in Grenada to feel that everyone can become a world champion. If I can be it everyone can be it, Peters tells IAAF.

Johannes Vetter was a world champion and reigning champion but had to settle for the bronze after a modest 85.37 and that was the only throw he had over 82 meters but there is an explanation.

- I feel depressed after my mother's death. I did not lose a gold but won a bronze, says the German according to Estonian Öhtuleht.
