October 7 marks the 45th anniversary of Ruslan Nigmatullin. The goalkeeper, who began his career in the Chelny KAMAZ, three times became the champion of Russia and twice won the national cup with the capital's Spartak and Lokomotiv. In 2001, the goalkeeper was recognized as the country's best footballer, and a year later he took part in the World Cup in Japan and South Korea. At the end of his sports career, Nigmatullin became a DJ. He also opened his own school of goalkeepers and worked as a commentator on television.
