Detroit has long been one of the more Swedish NHL clubs with names such as Henrik Zetterberg and Niklas Lidström who both had long careers in the club. Recently, the Nashville Predators have emerged as a club with great Swedish influence, during the night's match there were no less than four heavy Swedish names in the squad. In the Predator's first match of the season, we were offered four points from the Nashville Swedes.

Detroit decided late

Detriot took the lead 2-0 in the first period. However, Viktor Arvidsson would reduce. After a nice pass behind Matt Duchene's back, Arvidsson was able to push the puck in from close range. Filip Forsberg would also acknowledge. After a draw in the offensive zone, the former Leksand player was able to dive in 2-2, his second for the season, next to Jimmy Howard's right post.

After Detroit took back the lead, Mattias Ekholm was able to snap a return in the middle of the castle and easily send in a 3-3 for the Predators. But after five Swedish points total, it was a fun ending for Nashville. Tyler Bertuzzi was able to puncture the game with just over a minute left when he set his second goal of the evening in the open box and Detroit won 5-3 at the end. The loss is Nashville's first for the season after beating Minnesota in the season premiere.
