National coach Ronald Koeman of the Dutch national team has to do without injuries Jeroen Zoet and Davy Pröpper in the European Championship qualifying matches with Northern Ireland and Belarus.

Compared to the preselection, in addition to Zoet and Pröpper, Hans Hateboer, Justin Kluivert, Terence Kongolo, Tonny Vilhena and Wout Weghorst are not included in the final group of 23 players.

PSV goalkeeper Zoet sustained a groin injury in the warm-up for the Europa League match against the Norwegian Rosenborg (1-4 victory) on Thursday evening. Sweet is normally the second keeper of Orange behind Jasper Cillessen. Kenneth Vermeer and Marco Bizot are now the other goalkeepers in the selection.

Seventeen-fold international Pröpper has a hamstring injury and missed the Brighton & Hove Albion duel with Chelsea (2-0 defeat) last weekend. The midfielder was in the starting line-up last month at the Orange vs. Estonia (0-4 win).

Ajax defender Sergiño Dest and PSV playmaker Mohamed Ihattaren, who still have doubts between the Netherlands and the United States and Morocco respectively, were not in the pre-selection. Both talents do not yet want to make a definitive choice about their international career.

Orange is third in the qualifying group

The Dutch national team continues the European Championship qualification next Thursday with a home game against competitor Northern Ireland in De Kuip (kick-off at 8.45 pm). Three days later, a match with Belarus will take place at the Dinamo Stadium in Minsk (kick-off at 6 pm).

The team of Koeman, which won victories in Germany (2-4) and Estonia (0-4) in the previous international match period, currently occupies third place in group C with nine points. The number one and two in the group directly qualify for next summer's European Championship, which is being held in twelve different countries.

Due to the performance in the Nations League, the Orange squad still has the play-offs as a safety net, should it not be possible to finish first or second in the European Championship qualifying pool.
