Bayern Munich's Sergei Gnabry has won the European Footballer of the Year award in the second round of the Champions League, UEFA announced on Friday.

Uruguay said in a tweet on his official Twitter account that Gnabry was the winner of the Player of the Year award in the second round of the Champions League.

Gnabry overtook Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, Barcelona striker Emmanuel Bonaventure, the Belgian club professional in Bruges, and Moroccan Ashraf Hakimi of Borussia Dortmund.

Gnabry was chosen after a brilliant hat-trick and scored four goals (Super Hattrick) during Bayern Munich's match against Tottenham in London, which ended with the victory of the Bavarian team 7-2.
