FC Copenhagen, with two Swedish national team players in the starting eleven, led an even first half on points. Malmö FF's Danes had it heavier. Sören Rieks was stamped and linked off at the end of the first half. The referee had to add more time and the clock was in the fifth extra minute when the next knock came. Lasse Nielsen glided from close range into a low post in his own goal.

Anders Christiansen also got him linked off in the second half. Then the wind would have turned for MFF's part. All Swedish backlines know better than to leave Marcus Rosenberg alone in the penalty area. FCK should know that.

Jo Inge Berget did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. Between the center backs, the home team's captain stood and nodded the receipt behind Karl-Johan Johnsson in the 55th minute of the match.

Malmö managed to create a decent pressure against the Swedish national team reserve after the 1-1 goal but without being really close again.
