Biathlete Sebastian Samuelsson has made himself known for not holding back the words when he says doping.

Now it's time again. In a debate post on the Norwegian website Sports Policy, he writes today about his anger towards, above all, sports leaders, and the chairman of the international anti-doping agency Wada.

“Today, not only am I disappointed with the athletes, I am also really pissed at the athletes who let it happen. I get pissed off at those who want to protect honest athletes and uphold the rules of the sport, but who do the opposite, ”he writes, and continues:

“I get pissed at Wada's chairman Sir Craig Reedie. It is Reedie who has the ultimate responsibility for the biggest doping scandal ever ”.

“President Reedie is a 78-year-old white man and in many ways symbolizes all that is crazy about the sports movement today. Sport has become an industry where white men want to make a career at the expense of everything that sports really should be about. Money, power and a luxurious lifestyle are more important than sports themselves ”.

Don't believe in change

78-year-old Craig Reedie is set to leave in November. But Samuelsson doesn't think there will be any major changes.

"When Linda Hofstad Helleland, a reform-minded young woman with broad support from athletes all over the world, resigns as presidential candidate in Wada, she does not have the shadow of a chance to be elected," he writes.

“Confidence is completely gone”

Sebastian Samuelsson ends his debate by writing that he now completely dislikes Wada.

“Their credibility and trust are completely gone. The people in Wada's executive committee that voted for Rusada (the Russian Anti-Doping Agency) to be approved again in September 2018 should all leave their positions, "he writes, and concludes:

"Only then can Wada begin its long journey to regain the confidence of athletes around the world."
