After two seasons in the super league, Helsingborg, with five SM golds and as many cup golds on the track record, made a comeback in the All Swans this season.

The team was then led by Per-Ola Ljung, but he was fired this summer and HIF legend Henrik Larsson, who led the team when Helsingborg left the Allsvenskan 2016, took over.

Eight points for relegation

It lasted for two months. Then "Henke" stepped down from the coaching staff after having suffered verbal hopes and in early September, former national team star Olof Mellberg took over.

Now it looks like Mellberg will be basing on an all-Swedish team even in 2020. There are still four rounds of the Allsvenskan, but Monday night's 2-0 victory at home against Kalmar means that Helsingborg has eight points down to Sundsvall in qualifying and as many points down to the next last Falkenberg. Jumbo is Eskilstuna at 15 points.

Big match winner against Kalmar, who has 22 points, became the 21-year-old midfielder Max Svensson.

After an eventful first half for 6,353 spectators at Olympia, Svensson steered the lead on a perfect post from Mamudu Moro in the 63rd minute.

open goal

Only five minutes later, Svensson hit a chance nod centrally from Kalmarbacken Fidan Aliti. The Helsingborg midfielder got ahead of an outgoing Lukas Hägg-Johansson, chipped the ball past the keeper and was able to walk in the final score 2-0 in the open goal. The goal was Svensson's seventh in the Allsvenskan this season.

For Kalmar, the fight for survival is still awaited, and the last is Eskilstuna at home on Sunday next Sunday. Helsingborg has away match against the table elf Sirius (22 points) on Saturday.
