The situation seems paradoxical due to the fact that the IAAF officially forbade the Russian team to fly under its own flag, but it does not hesitate to remind about this on its official page.

Special mention deserves the fact that the word "RUSSIAN" is written in capital letters.

“Lasitskene was not able to overcome the bar at an altitude of 2.08 m - and, frankly, she was not close to this in any of her three attempts, but this is not so important: an athlete with a neutral status (RUSSIAN, let's not get this deny) took the previous height of 2.04 m on the first try and won gold. This is her third consecutive triumph. A great competition won by a worthy athlete. Maria raises three fingers, celebrating success, before making a circle of honor, ”the message says.

A #WorldAthleticsChamps competition for the ages!

It is interesting that at the previous world championship in London in 2017, when Russian athletes were forced to compete for the first time not under the national flag, foreign commentators called the Russians “Russians in neutral status”, however, representatives of the official IAAF website avoided such formulations.

It was previously reported that Lasitskene won a gold medal at the World Championships in Qatar and became the champion in the number of awards of the highest quality in women's high jumps.
