The family of Brazilian Casemiro lived a night of terror after her house was robbed by thieves, at a time when the player was busy with Real Madrid against neighbors and rivals Atletico Madrid.

The "Madrid derby" ended in a goalless draw to keep Real at the top of the league, after a match that saw Casemiro shine in the center of the field.

The player did not expect to find police waiting for him after the end of the meeting in order to accompany him to his home to check on his family after being robbed.

Spanish media reported that Casemiro's wife and daughter were at home when they were stormed by thieves.

The sources confirmed that the player's family was not hurt, while the reports did not indicate the nature of the items that were stolen or their value.

Casemiro is the latest victim of the theft of home-based burglars in Spain, and a number of top players have been robbed during matches with their teams, including Alvaro Morata, Lucas Vazquez, Samuel Umtiti, Pique and Jordi Alba.

Players have been advised to counter the theft by strengthening their security precautions and avoiding posting photos of their property through networking sites or pointing to their whereabouts.
