To be the best when it comes to all athletes' big dream, to get the chance to win a World Cup gold at home on the spot you have spent thousands of training hours is few. That chance got Mona Brorsson last winter during the biathlon World Cup in Östersund at the start of the hunt. She was five shots away from a historic gold, but the chance became a painful reminder of how cruel the sport can be.

- That I would come in with a lead for almost half a minute was too good to be true and I couldn't handle them, says Mona Brorsson.
