We then access a unique universe. DS has opted for diamond-shaped elements (or rhombus) and under that thread the entire dashboard, instrumentation graphics and buttons have been designed. In particular, it does not convince us : everything is very variegated and it is difficult to find some controls, apart from others such as those of the electric windows placed in the central tunnel.

However, this design (and the materials used) gives the cabin a very exclusive presence - although some hard plastics are maintained - and that, without considering the large number of customization elements. We are not talking about a larger central screen, it is that you can order thicker carpets, skin for the dashboard and doors, exclusive upholstery for the ceiling, chrome ...

Going to the list of DS extras is not far from what is experienced in a premium brand. If anything, at lower prices. Obviously, that list is reduced as we jump to more equipped versions, although then the price can reach 39,000 euros . A lot for a DS?

No, they can still be up to 43,000 euros if it is the E-tense, 100% electric version with more than 300 kilometers of autonomy and pending commercialization. There is also a diesel (with 100 hp) and three petrol, of which we test the most powerful: Puretech 1.2 three-cylinder with 155 horsepower , which always comes with the automatic change of eight relations.

You can count on a large deployment in security assistants, including the autopilot for the highway. And many elements to make the car unique, different from all others.

The benefits of this box - sanity, good response - are combined here with a propeller that is only noisy and vibrates at idle speed. Once this situation has been saved, it is a pleasure to feel the smoothness with which you turn around and gain speed ... Unless we select the Eco mode of the three dynamic programs available since, in pursuit of the lowest possible consumption, it delays the response. If we dispense in this way, the expenditure on fuel is not bleeding either.

Posts to run, or overtake, the car responds. It has plenty of power, it drives naturally, the steering has a good touch, does not weigh as much as other rivals and, finally, DS has given a superb touch to the suspensions . They seem soft, which results in comfort, but at the same time filter imperfections with great quality and hold a body that is 17 centimeters from the ground.

It is not bad data outside the asphalt. But, with a very urban approach and only traction on the front wheels, there are no aids such as the Grip Control (which improves grip on sliding surfaces) or the descent control of slopes already seen in other SUVs of the group.
