Fsiha ran most of the race alone.

- It felt good, but I felt a little sore throat. I didn't run very fast, 3.10-3.15 per kilometer but it was very much up and down. It was hard but I struggled, says Fsiha to Lidingöloppet Play.

He waved to the crowd as he received the laurel wreath at the rally. Victory time was just over four minutes above the track record.

Best European in terrain European Championship

23-year-old Fsiha, who was born in Eritrea, gained Swedish citizenship in December last year. At the terrain world championships in Denmark last spring he became 17th and best European. He finished second at 10000 meters at the Swedish Championships and third in Finnkampen at the same distance a month ago.

Kenyan John Muthui Musee finished second, half a minute after the win. The winner of the last two years Napoleon Solomon finished third, 52 seconds after Fsiha.

- I've been very sick if I'm to be honest. I was really tired right from the start and thought I would be more attractive, ”says Solomon, who fought cramps.
