A summit between Rögle and Leksand, not many people thought of the season. But on Saturday afternoon, that's exactly what the hockey Sweden was offering.

Rögle started at a furious pace, creating several positions in a short period of time. And finally, the dividend also came. After three and a half minutes Nils Höglander chased Leksands goalkeeper Janne Juvonen, who expected a pass. Instead came an end from a narrow angle that looked in at the first post.

But Leksand would be back soon. Only 72 seconds later Sebastian Wännström put 1-1, and with only 47 seconds left of the period, the valley team also took the lead through Martin Karlsson.

In others, a whole new Rögle showed up on the ice. Already in the first minute Leon Bristedt made 1-0, nicely played by Kodie Curran with a flip flop from blue to Bristedt who in front of goal tipped away Juvonen. Rögle was not clear there, but Dennis Everberg would also give Rögle the lead in a period where Leksand could not recognize the initial ten minutes.

In the third, it long seemed that Rögle would dismiss Leksand relatively easily, and did not let go much. But then star recruit Johan Fransson stepped forward with an opening pass from his own zone to Sebastian Wännström who became free. And there he made no mistakes, but neatly acknowledged with a Kenta Nilsson draw.

However, he would not become a point-saver. For Taylor Matson, he did so many times before this season when he returned the Rögle lead with four minutes left.

- It was a good win for us. We found our game in the second period, ”Taylor Matson tells C More.

The feeling this year is not as it usually is in the squad, says Matson, who has been in Rögle ever since the time in Hockeyallsvenskan.

- It's a special feeling we have this year. We have incredible fans every game, it's great to be a part of.

Dennis Everberg agrees that it feels good in the team now, and is satisfied with five wins in the opening six games.

- I think we're doing well. It is towards Oskarshamn where we do not get the puck. We will be back late in the matches. I think it's important for the future to know that we can do it, he tells C More.
