Hermansson, who was born in Sweden but has lived in Norway for the past ten years, competes under the Swedish-Norwegian flag and has made a comet career in the UFC.

Since 2016, he is the middleweight who has won the most matches (seven).

The big breakthrough came in April with the victory against legendary Jacare Souza, for many years one of the world's best middleweights.

Hermansson is currently Sweden's highest ranked UFC fighter (fifth) and the meeting with hard-hitting American Jared Cannonier (nia) in Copenhagen will be his second major match of the UFC career.

"Hope to get the hype"

Skrällsegern against Jacare last spring put Hermansson in a powerful position.

A new victory in Denmark would make the Swede turn in a title match.

- The most likely is that Paulo Costa will challenge for the title next, but I will try to stand for a dominant effort and then hopefully I can get a lot of hype behind me, Hermansson tells mmafighting.com.

- I'm also open to meet Costa and make up who of us who really should get the next chance at the title. It would be cruel, he continues.

Next week, Costa is in place in Australia as a reserve in the big title match between champion Robert Whittaker and challenger Israel Adesanya.

Länsberg near home plan

Even Sweden's best-ranked UFC fights on the women's side are going to a match at Saturday's gala in Copenhagen. And it will almost be "home plan" for Lina Länsberg, 12th in the world at bantamweight, who lives and trains in Malmö.

The 37-year-old Swede is facing undefeated American Macy Chiasson, ranked eleven.

- It will be a tough and bloody match. A war where I have to be tougher than her. Macy is big and strong and ends her opponents, but I think she will get it tough on someone who is as experienced as me, Länsberg tells ufc.com.

In her last match, she ran over MMA pioneer Tonya Evinger completely in a boiling globe.

- It was clearly the biggest moment of my career. Not only because it was a fantastic match, but also for the contact with the audience in Stockholm, she says.
