Champions Manchester City continued to chase Liverpool at the top of the English Premier League with a 3-1 win at Everton in the Premier League.

With that win, Manchester City have 16 points in the runner-up, five points behind leaders Liverpool, while Everton have seven points in 15th place.

City took the lead in the 24th minute through Brazilian Gabriel Jesus.

By the 33rd minute, Everton leveled through Dominique Calvert Lewin to end the first half with a 1-1 draw.

The excitement increased in the second half, as City added a second goal through Algerian Riad Mehrez in the 71st minute.

Raheem Sterling boosted the visitors' lead by scoring the third goal in the 85th minute.
