Manchester City's record of 18 straight wins from fall 2017 could be in jeopardy. Liverpool's victory against Sheffield was the team's 16th straight victory in the Premier League.

But it sat far in. Despite a large takeover of ball possession, Liverpool failed to create enough hot chances to find a net. But in the end, it would turn out that there was no need for a hot chance to win against Sheffield. Because when Georginio Wijnaldum fired a shot straight at goal keeper Dean Henderson, the ball went into the goal after all, after Henderson dropped it into goal.

The goal became the only match, and Liverpool's season opening is still filled with three points. Now two wins remain to clinch Manchester City's record of 18 straight wins.
