On Sunday, Swedish speedway driver Linus Sundström was seriously injured during a competition in Poland. The Swede was driving with another driver and the two riders drove off the track. He suffered serious injuries to his legs and arms, among other things.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance and from there it was reported that he had sustained a bone fracture and would need rehabilitation.

Linus Sundström's father says that the situation worsened when the son was moved to another hospital.

- It turned out that it was too early. He never hit his head but he got a concussion afterwards, it was such a serious crash, he tells SVT Sport.

- He has broken the femur, has a complicated arm fracture and has problems with the liver.

"It has been life threatening"

The situation was life-threatening, but according to Kenneth Sundström it has now turned.

- It has been life threatening, disaster. I'm all over. He is intensive but he is starting to come back. We talked to him today, it's light years from yesterday. He remembers nothing but is very shaken. He is a tough and well-trained, which is why he came back so quickly.
