Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri recorded it for Matthijs de Ligt on Tuesday evening. The defender who came from Ajax did not make an indelible impression in his first months at 'Juve', but can count on the support of his trainer.
"We have to be patient with him," Sarri said after Juventus' difficult 1-2 victory at Brescia against DAZN over his central defender. "De Ligt is very young and comes from a club with a completely different playing style. He is phenomenal and shows growth, but is not yet completely ready for it."
De Ligt came over for 70 million euros from Ajax last summer and so far played three of the first five league matches, all as basic players. The nineteen-time Oranje-international was put on the bench against Hellas Verona on Saturday, but was allowed to start again against Brescia.
"We must not forget that Kalidou Koulibaly had to get used to Serie A in his first months with Napoli," emphasized Sarri, former coach of the Naples team. "De Ligt just needs time. And if we are defensively vulnerable, it is up to the entire team, not just the four defenders."

Sarri wants to change systems
Juventus entered Brescia on Tuesday evening without the slightly injured Cristiano Ronaldo. Due to the lack of the Portuguese star player, Sarri decided to play with a 4-3-2-1 system instead of a 4-3-3 system, something he wants to do more often.
"We can also play with Ronaldo in this way, because it suits him. We must be prepared to use this variant more often now that we have some personnel problems with the wing defenders and we have many attacking midfielders. We have to deal with that to go see. "
Due to the narrow victory at Brescia, Juventus is still undefeated in the Serie A. The reigning champion is the leader, but closest attacker Internazionale has only played one point less and moreover played a match less.
