Djurgården has had a heavy start to the SDHL season. The first three matches ended with losses, most recently against SDE as four seasons in a row were forced to qualify for the highest series.

And it started tough today, away from the last two seasons of Jumbo Gothenburg.

Acknowledged before the period break

Gothenburg had already gone up 2-0 before the match clock had passed five minutes.

But Djurgården took over the game more and more, and before the period was over, the team had done both 1-2 and 2-2.

Gothenburg woke up again

In the second period, Djurgården's takeover became even greater, and just over halfway into the match, Canadian star Jennifer Wakefield scored her first goal of the season, when she broke in from the right on her own and fired a shot that went between the legs of Gothenburg's British goalkeeper Nicole Jackson.

But Wakefield's goal again aroused Gothenburg. And just over a minute before the break, Anna Borgedlt fired a shot that Jennifer Karlsson steered in the mess in front of goal.

But in the third period it was never a snack. Then Djurgården was clearly better, and finally arranged a clear and fair 6-3 victory.
