All Swedish football matches can sometimes become rather poor where the passers and melee games are allowed to dominate. The meeting between Kalmar and Häcken was not one of those matches.

The first half really had everything. High tempo, lots of goal chances, a lot of emotions and yellow cards so it was enough and stayed over.

The hedge, which comes from a frustrating loss at home to AIK and is on the upper half, was not the team that set the pace. It was Kalmar, with a half starting eleven on the injury list.

After a couple of half chances in the first minutes, Kalmar created a cavalcade of qualified goal chances. Next came Melker Hallberg with a real cannon from 25 meters. Peter Abrahamsson got out, got his fingertips on the ball and steered away to a corner.

Target by Elm

The goal came a few minutes later when Kalmar's team captain Viktor Elm combined good suspense with good timing and nodded Rafinha's corner in goal.

There was a lot of emotion in the match, both Ahmed Yasin and Lucas Hägg Johansson received yellow cards just to show their feelings a little too clearly.

The hedge was not without chances at first, but the sight was not really set and the finishes often went off the posts.

Lower tempo

The second half was not played at a really high tempo. But it was still an entertaining football game. Kalmar was a little lower and wanted to defend that 1-0 lead. Initially it went pretty well. But then Häcken got the chance for a quick change. Fastest of all was Kwame Kizito who ran away from everything and everyone. Hägg Johansson was on the ball, but the shot went too hard for him to fire the receipt.

After 75 minutes the gasoline ran out of Kalmar. Once they won the ball, they did not have the strength to attack. The result was that Häcken had everything last quarter. However, without being able to get a victory goal.
