Frenkie de Jong met with a surprising 2-0 defeat at Granada with FC Barcelona on Saturday. In the Serie A, Juventus recorded a difficult 2-1 win over Hellas Verona without Matthijs de Ligt and in France, Kasper Dolberg scored his first goal for OGC Nice.
Barcelona already fell behind in Granada after two minutes due to a goal by Ramon Azeez. The Nigerian headed from close range from a cross from the right. The national champion then barely succeeded in creating danger. Lionel Messi, who came into the field after the break, could not change that.
In addition, Granada received a penalty midway through the second half after a handball from Arturo Vidal, which was utilized by the recently invaded Alvaro Vadilla. In the sequel, Barcelona, where De Jong played the entire game, could not relieve the tension.
Barcelona, which this season already lost points in five league games for the third time, drops to seventh place due to the defeat. Granada is the leader thanks to the victory and has three points more than the Catalans. Seville has as many points as Granada, but will still receive Real Madrid on Sunday.
Earlier in the evening, Atlético let Madrid down for the second time in a row. After the defeat at Real Sociedad (2-0), coach Diego Simeone's team played a 0-0 draw at home against Celta de Vigo. Atlético is third and has as many points as Granada and Seville.

Juventus fights for itself without De Ligt
De Ligt, who had no base place for the first time since Giorgio Chiellini's serious injury, was relieved by Juventus-Hellas Verona and was replaced by Merih Demiral in the defense. Wojciech Szczesny, Miralem Pjanic, Sami Khedira and Gonzalo Higuaín also started on the couch.
Juventus had a hard time against Hellas Verona and was awarded a penalty in the twentieth minute after a foul by Demiral. Samuel Di Carmine first shot on the post, after which Darko Lazovic hit the crossbar from the rebound. Shortly thereafter, Miguel Veloso found the net for the visitors with a beautiful long shot.
Aaron Ramsey brought Juventus alongside ten minutes later with a long shot and Cristiano Ronaldo took advantage of a penalty for the home team shortly after the break, with De Ligt remaining on the bench. Hellas defender Marash Kumbulla received his second yellow card in injury time.
Because of the victory, Juventus is in second place on two points of leader Internazionale. The 'Nerazzurri' later won the 'Derby della Madonnina' against AC Milan 0-2 thanks to goals from Marcelo Brozovic and Romelu Lukaku.

Dolberg makes first goal for winning Nice
In Ligue 1, Nice was 2-1 too strong for Dijon thanks to the Dolberg home goal. The Danish striker, who was sold by Ajax to the French club at the end of last month, took care of the equalizer after half an hour. After a subtle pass from Adam Ounas, Dolberg made his first goal in the service of Nice.
Shortly after the break, Youcef Atal made the win for the southern French team, which climbs to second place with the win. Nice has just as many points as Paris Saint-Germain, but the leader will visit Olympique Lyon on Sunday.
Olympique Marseille previously played 1-1 draws against Montpellier on Saturday and is third. Kevin Strootman completed the ninety minutes with the home team, who ended the game with nine men with red cards for Boubacar Kamara and Dimitri Payet in injury time. Jordan Ferri of Montpellier also had to leave the field.
