It was after Saman Ghoddo's move from Östersund that Fifa chose to punish the Swedish club. Ghoddos was made ready for Amiens in French Ligue 1, but had before it been rumored to Spanish Huesca who believes that they agreed with Östersund about a transition when Ghoddos withdrew.

Östersund then became obliged to pay compensation to Huesca and was banned from recruiting under two windows, and Ghoddos was given a four-month gambling ban and was obliged to pay over 40 million to the Spanish club.

But now both Östersund and Ghoddos choose to appeal Fifa's verdict.

Long process

- Of course we have appealed. Last night we filed our appeal to Cas, while Saman Ghoddos did as well, says Niclas Lidström to SVT Sport.

Now Östersund has another ten days to complete its appeal, but after that it may take a long time before a decision by the International Arbitration Court Cas.

- It may take between six and twelve months before we receive any information. Just look at Therese Johaug and her appeal to Cas, it takes time.

Worked with Ghoddos

Although there are two different cases, and two different appeals submitted, Östersund and Ghoddos work together on the matter.

- We have had contact with Saman Ghoddos during this time. We have talked to him and discussed with him. Of course, we have cooperated with each other, says Lidström.
