Tottenham Hotspur has moderately started the new Champions League season. The losing finalist of the last edition did not get any further than 2-2 at Olympiakos in Greece on Wednesday.
In the opening phase, Olympiakos was the better team in Piraeus and that dominance almost led to the opening goal by Miguel Guerrero, who hit the post. Halfway through the first half, however, Tottenham was awarded a penalty after Yassine Meriah's foul on Harry Kane, who took advantage of the opportunity.
Four minutes later, Lucas Moura doubled the margin for the 'Spurs' by beautifully shooting the ball from just outside the sixteen-meter area in the left corner. Olympiakos did not get upset and fought back to the game just before half-time through a slider from Daniel Podence in the far corner.
Early in the second half the Greeks reached the same level. After a foul by Jan Vertonghen on Mathieu Valbuena, the ball hit the spot and the Frenchman convincingly scored the penalty. After that, no more goals were scored in the Georgios Karaiskákis Stadium.
Tottenham and Olympiakos are group B classified with Bayern Munich and Red Star Belgrade. Those two teams started on Wednesday at 9 p.m. in the Allianz Arena.

Babel fails to score for Galatasaray
In group A, Club Brugge and Galatasaray played a 0-0 draw in Belgium. Ryan Babel was given one of the best chances of the match on behalf of the Turks, but he ran into goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
Just like Ruud Vormer, Club played the entire game at Club Brugge. At Galatasaray, Ryan Donk came in during injury time.
Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are the other two teams in this group. They started in Paris on Wednesday at 9 p.m.
