In 2014, together with the elite associations' organization FSSL, the Swedish Association of Swedish Insiders decided to introduce an elite license. It is now clear that three of the 24 clubs are denied the license. The three clubs that are denied are FC Helsingborg, Storvreta IBK and Malmö FBC.

On Wednesday, the elite licensing committee presented the decision to the Swedish Super League associations:

At its meeting on September 4, 2019, the Licensing Board made decisions in the 24 associations that play in the Swedish Superligan and are covered by the elite license.

To be granted an elite license, there must be an authorized public accountant and the equity must be positive by 30 April 2019.
