Borussia Dortmund hit the net and missed a penalty during a goalless draw at home to Barcelona in the opening Group F rounds of the Champions League on Tuesday, in the first appearance of Lionel Messi this season with the Spanish champions.

The promising 16-year-old Anso Vatti became the youngest player to play for Barcelona in the European championship when the game began, without leaving a real mark before replacing Messi an hour ago.

Even as the Argentine landed, the German side remained the most dangerous side and captain Marco Ruiz missed a penalty saved by Ter Stegen, whose brilliance prevented his team from rushing to attack, while Julian Brandt hit the ball in the 77th minute.
