On Friday, the news was presented that the boards of Malmö FF and damallsvenska Limhamn / Bunkeflo (LB07) agree to merge the associations. Something that the members of each association will vote on at extra annual meetings later this year.
However, Malmö FF's supporter association, MFF Support, opposes the proposal. MFF Support writes in a statement on the association's website that they look favorably at an elite football venture for women within Malmö FF, but that it is done in the wrong way.
“Malmö FF should create its own history, its own success and earn its own place. Taking over another association's history, success and place in the series system is not the way to go, "the supporters write.
The ambition is that Limhamn / Bunkeflo's current operations will be in Malmö FF. But there is nothing that MFF Support supports.
“We look forward to being Malmö FF's women's official supporter association, just as we have been before. But not by taking over another association's place in the series system. It's not our Malmö FF ”.
