On a bad dynamic in the league since the beginning of September, Olympique Lyonnais will not have taken advantage of the European parenthesis to reassure itself completely. Eighth of last year's Champions League finalist, OL started their 2019/20 campaign with a not-so-reassuring draw on Tuesday (September 17th), which saw them share points at home with Zenit. St. Petersburg (1-1).

Two points lost, the fault to a first act globally missed. Shoved at the outset by a Zen team rather at ease technically, the men of Sylvinho have struggled to find solutions in the game, despite a queen-Adelaide very legs in the midfield.

It was not until half-an-hour before OL managed to get their first chance of the match: Marcelo's header from a Memphis corner corner, which spun next to the left post. Lunev (36th). And it is finally on the other side of the field, a few moments later, that things are unlocked. After a good combination at the entrance of the area with Dziouba, Azmoun shot a nice shot from right to deceive Lopes (1-0, 41).

Memphis saves the house

Back from the break, the Gones finally found a little more going and technical accuracy. And on an offensive, Memphis was improperly grounded by Ozdoev in the box. An intervention sanctioned by a penalty, which the Dutch striker was responsible for converting himself, a few moments later (1-1, 50th).

In the wake, the Lyonnais seemed to finally get their hands on the game. A domination they have never managed to achieve, however, since with the exception of a strike signed Queen-Adelaide at the hour of play (60th), the Russian rearguard never really seemed about to crack.

And this draw, the sixth in a row at home for OL in all competitions, should once again have a bitter aftertaste. After a good start to the season (nine goals scored in L1 in two games), the Gones have still not found their superb.
