At the World Cup this year, Therese Johaug showed who rules in cross-country skiing on the women's side. There were three golds, in skiathlon, at 10 kilometers and on the three miles. Prior to that, she had won in all the distance races she was in. The only loss came after the World Cup, when Stina Nilsson in the World Cup final in Quebec cracked the Norwegian on the rally.

To crown her career with Olympic medals does not seem to be what she focuses on.

- It's not that crucial to me. After the years I have been through, I have got a slightly different perspective on things, compared to what I had before, she tells Langrenn.com.

Not sure

Whether the audience will see the star of the 2022 Olympics is not certain. The 31-year-old Norwegian, who will be 34 at the time, is not convinced that she will continue until the championships.

- I don't know, it's 50/50. The most important thing for me is that I enjoy this, that I feel that I have the motivation to put down the required training, that I have the motivation to travel as much as we do, and not least that the results meet the expectations I have on myself, she says.
