Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tokel said on Friday that his Brazilian international Neymar da Silva could play in Saturday's Ligue 1 match against Strasbourg.

If Neymar plays today, it will be his first game for the team since May, as the past period has witnessed a huge debate about the departure of Neymar from the ranks of the team.

The Brazilian international moved to St Germain in the summer of 2017 in exchange for payment of the penalty clause in his contract with Barcelona of 222 million euros.

The player has a contract until 30 June 2022, but there has been considerable controversy over the possibility of moving to another club or returning to Barcelona.

"I am very happy that the transfer window is over," said Tokel.

"He is convinced that he will give everything to achieve our goals."

The participation of Neymar is an urgent need for the French capital team, because the other stars Klyan Mbappe and Edinson Cavani will be out of injury.

Neymar will miss Wednesday's first Champions League game against Real Madrid due to a UEFA suspension after his comments against the "Video Assistant Referee" referees after his team were eliminated from the Champions League final against Manchester United last season.
