During Friday, Malmö FF and LB07 announced their plans to come together to make Malmö FF a team in the women's highest series. The decision must be pushed through at extra-annual meetings in the respective association before they take effect, but MFF's intentions cannot be lost. If not immediately, over time it will become a whole new competitive situation for FC Rosengård.

- Yes, but that's what we live for. It's tight in the damall swan already. And we have had competition in the city before. But it's hard to say before we know what MFF's bet will look like, says FC Rosengård's sports manager Therese Sjögran to SVT Sport.

Malmö FF's women's team became FC Rosengård

In 2007, MFF's women's team changed its name to LdB Malmö, in 2013 the club was renamed and named FC Rosengård. According to Sjögran, there have been no discussions between Malmö FF and Rosengård about a new collaboration or merger.

- They have said their reasons why they choose to cooperate with LB07 and we must respect that.

There is no bitterness on your part?

- No absolutely not.

"There is room for two big clubs"

Although the proposal will go through a couple of annual meetings before it is put through, and Rosengård's sporting head start may take a while to catch up, there is a risk of a tougher competitive situation in the city going forward.

- I think there is room for two big clubs, Malmö is a big city. But it's hard to speculate so far. I am positive that MFF has decided to invest, more than that I cannot say about right now.
