Cody Gakpo has extended his contract with PSV on Thursday. The talented attacker signs for a year and is now stuck in Eindhoven until the summer of 2023.
"This new contract gives me the feeling that the club appreciates me. Those are things that you should cherish as a footballer," said twenty-year-old Gakpo on the PSV site.
Less than a year ago trainer Mark van Bommel brought the attacker to the first team, where he already signed until mid 2022. Now another year is added.
"I am very happy that I was again allowed to put my signature under a PSV contract. As a boy from Eindhoven it is of course a dream to reach the first team. In recent years I have been able to play football step by step there."
This season Gakpo participated in all PSV games and in the last weeks he was the basic player. The youth international played a total of 31 official duels, in which he scored four times and gave eight assists.
