In Audi Sport they have retained the A7 only hood and front doors, roof and tailgate. Everything else is new. Even the rear doors have been molded to fit the new wider wings (2 centimeters per side), while the bumpers - especially the front, equipped with a wider and more distinctive RS grill and side radiators - give it a completely different design .
Huge wheels (series 21 "but optional 22"), spoilers (the rear rises from 120 km / h), side stirrups and rear extractor give it an aggressive and sporty air that is not false: the benefits of RS7 They are impressive; You can accelerate from 0 to 100 in 3.6 seconds and reach 305 Km / h with the Dymamic Plus package.
The increase in power up to 600 hp is due to the supercharged 4-liter TFSI engine, which is supported by a 'mild hybrid' system of 48 volts, capable of providing an additional 12 kW of power and save fuel by disconnecting the engine promptly and starting at electric. But, in addition, the RS7 is equipped with the COD cylinder disconnection system, which imperceptibly cancels four of them when they are not necessary. But when you step on the accelerator there are 600 hp of power and a torque of 800 Nm from 2,100 to 4,500 rpm.
The management of all this cavalry can be done through six driving profiles, which can be selected from the steering wheel: Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, Efficiency, RS1 and RS2. They act on the engine response, the change, the Quattro drive, the steering, the suspension ... and even in the air conditioner!
The Audi RS7 Sportback goes footwear with huge tires up to 285 "wide. Inside the huge wheels there are also big brakes. As standard, ventilated steel discs up to 420 mm in diameter are delivered. But the 'jewel' is carbon-ceramic with calipers of up to 10 pistons! Not only are 34 Kg lighter, but they provide extraordinary and tireless braking.
So far, all this information could correspond to a racing car or, at least, a full-fledged sports car. But it is a saloon for four or five passengers, with a trunk between 535 and 1,390 liters. Audi Sport guarantees extraordinary comfort and safety: nappa, alcantara or leather seats with specific RS pattern, interior decoration in red or gray, infotainment, total connectivity, sound and air conditioning, insulation ...
But the driver is the one who benefits most: at your disposal the Virtual Cockpit with additional RS sports information (up to times per lap!) And indicative light of change regime, so that it acts on time on the aluminum cams behind the wheel. In addition, it has an optional Head-up Display, with all the projected information, and a touch screen integrated in the dashboard with all other functions, many of which can be operated directly from the steering wheel.
